2018 Little League Bat Rule

Little League International has made a rule change regarding which bats are eligible for use starting in 2018. The short story is that any and all bats that were allowed for use in 2017 and earlier will NOT be allowed for use in 2018, except for Seniors and up (age 14 and older, who may continue to use BBCOR bats).

We understand that this is an abrupt change, but to maintain consistency, fairness, and to eliminate confusion, North Andover Little League will be adopting Little League's 2018 Bat Rule across all divisions. Beginning in 2018, all bats must have the USA Baseball marking. The USA Baseball bat standard is replacing the BPF standard previously used to certify bats for use in Little League. The link below provides additional information and a FAQ section regarding eligible bats for the 2018 season. We encourage everyone to read through the FAQs if you plan to buy your player a new bat for the 2018 season.

North Andover Little League will provide at least one USA Baseball approved bat per team in 2018 to accommodate players that do not bring their own bats. As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact any member of the North Andover Little League board of directors.

10 National Pitches in to Coach the U8 Clinic

The 10 year old National District team ran a skills and drills clinic for the North Andover U8 program on July 13. The U8 program meets twice weekly through July at the Franklin School. Each session, a different North Andover Little League team takes on the role of coach and mentor to these young players. The cost of the program is $50 for the summer. The U8 summer program is made up of players from TBall and IL in our spring program.
