The summer program is more focused on age groupings (as opposed to school grade levels) due to the fact that teams are entered into leagues consisting of inter-town play with league rules mandating certain age requirements (with the exception of the U8 program).

5, 6, and 7 Year Olds (born 9/1/2009 and later)

Informal coach pitch program for ages 5, 6, and 7 year olds (and 8 year olds whose parents feel their child is not ready for a player pitch league). The program will meet two days per week (TBD) for approximately 90 minutes. In recent years, this program has met at the Franklin School. The format will be roughly 45 minutes of skills and drills, 45 minutes of a scrimmage game with the players being grouped by skill level, based on the players in attendance each night.

7-year olds playing in the Single A division during the spring season are encouraged to play in the Merrimack Valley Small Diamond League in the 7/8-year old division.

7/8 Year Olds (birth dates 9/1/2008 to 8/31/2010)

Players will compete in the Merrimack Valley Small Diamond League (MVSDL) 7/8-year old division against teams from Andover, Billerica, Dracut, Lawrence, Methuen, and Haverhill. This team is intended for players who participated in the Single A division during the spring season, but is open to 7-year olds who played IL during the spring season (this is a big jump, but some players are ready). This league plays approximately 10-12 games (5-6 games played in North Andover), with a single-elimination playoff to conclude the season in early August. Every effort is made to schedule all of the games on weeknights. Typically there are one or two practices per week, scheduled at the coach's discretion. This program will be strictly kid pitch, playing under Little League rules. Depending upon enrollment, we expect there will be two 7/8-year old teams from North Andover Little League in 2017. Teams will be selected by the age level VP and the Player Agent, with the goal of creating balanced teams with equal ability. Registration for MVSDL is open from mid May until June 15th.

9 Year Olds (birth dates 9/1/2007 to 8/31/2008)

Players will compete in the MVSDL 9/10-year old division against teams from Andover, Billerica, Dracut, Lawrence, Methuen, and Haverhill. The format of this league is as described above. Registration for MVSDL is open from mid May until June 15th. Depending upon enrollment, we expect there will be two 9/10-year old teams from North Andover Little League in 2017.

North Andover will field one tournament team made up of 9 year old players. The tournament team will enter the Soucy Tournament, held in North Andover during the month of July, and up to two other local tournaments. The tournament team will be selected by the coaches in the AA and AAA Divisions, the VP of Instructional Divisions, and the Player Agent based on a vote by the players and their performance during the spring season.

10 Year Olds (birth dates 9/1/2006 to 8/31/2007)

Players will compete in the MVSDL 9/10-year old division against teams from Andover, Billerica, Dracut, Lawrence, Methuen, and Haverhill. The format of this league is as described above. Registration for MVSDL is open from mid May until June 15th. Depending upon enrollment, we expect there will be two 9/10-year old teams from North Andover Little League in 2017.

North Andover will enter two teams into the Little League District 14 9/10-year old tournament. See below for additional information on District teams. Players selected for and opting to play on a District team are not eligible to play on an MVSDL team.

11-12 Year Olds (birth dates 5/1/2004 to 8/31/2006) 

Players will compete in the MVSDL against teams from Andover, Billerica, Dracut, Lawrence, Methuen, and Riverside-Bradford. This league plays approximately 10-12 games (5-6 games played in North Andover), with a single-elimination playoff to conclude the season in early August. Every effort is made to schedule all of the games on weeknights. Typically there are one or two practices per week, scheduled at the coach's discretion. Depending upon enrollment, we expect there will be two 11/12-year old teams from North Andover Little League in 2017. Teams will be selected by the age level VP and the Player Agent, with the goal of creating balanced teams with equal ability. Registration for MVSDL is open from mid May until June 15th.

North Andover will enter two teams into the Little League District 14 10/11-year old tournament and two teams into the Little League District 14 11/12-year old tournament. 10, 11, and 12 Year Old Little League District Tournament Teams 

Players who are selected to a District Tournament team, based on performances in the Spring season, will compete in the District Tournament and two rounds of the Bay State Baseball Tournament of Champions. A total of two (2) teams from each age group will compete in the District Tournament and Bay States. Practices will begin after June 15 with tournament play ending in late July or early August. This additional fee covers the cost of entering the Little League Tournament and the Bay State Tournament of Champions.
